Terms of Service

HoopTrace lets an operator capture basketball stats on a tablet, share a live box score, and generate a branded PDF stat sheet. We may add, change, or remove features over time.

Accounts are for adults (operators, scorers, coaches, league staff). You’re responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in secure. You must have authority to enter the roster and game data you add.

Student managers do not get accounts of their own. A coach or school may let a student manager who is at least 13 keep score on a device signed in to the coach’s or school’s account, under that adult’s supervision and with any permission the school requires. The student must not be given the account password and must not enter personal information about themselves. The account holder is responsible for everything recorded under the account, including by a student, as if they had recorded it themselves, and for signing out of shared devices.

You retain ownership of the roster, game, and stat data you create. You grant us the limited rights needed to host it and provide the Service (store it, render box scores and PDFs, and deliver those to the contacts you designate). See our Privacy Policy for how we handle it.

Don’t misuse the Service: no unlawful use, no attempts to break security or access other organizations’ data, no uploading of data you don’t have the right to use, and no use that harms minors.

HoopTrace is used to publish the names and statistics of young athletes. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behavior. You may not submit, publish, or transmit content that is hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit, defamatory, or that demeans any person or group — including in organization names, team names, player names, venue names, event names, game titles, and uploaded logos.

We screen submitted names automatically and review every report from a user. Reports are acted on within 24 hours. Content that breaks this rule is removed and the account responsible is suspended or terminated, without refund and without prior notice.

Anyone can report content from inside the app, and signed-in users can block an organization to remove all of its games and events from their view immediately. To report something you cannot reach in the app, email hello@hooptrace.com.

Capturing games, the live box score, a per-game PDF stat sheet, each player’s career record, and advanced stats are free and unlimited. The free plan also includes a limited number of verified stat sheets each season. Paid plans add to that: Coach unlocks unlimited verified stat sheets and data exports, and Club adds club-wide roll-ups. Current prices and allowances are shown on the pricing page.

Paid plans are annual and renew automatically at the then-current price until you cancel. You can cancel or change a plan at any time: plans bought on the website are managed from the billing portal in your account, and plans bought through the App Store or Google Play are managed in that store’s subscription settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal; your plan stays active until the end of the term you paid for. If we change the price of a plan, we will tell you before your next renewal so you can cancel before the new price applies.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the prior 12 months or US $100. These limits do not apply to our gross negligence or intentional misconduct, or to any liability or consumer right that cannot be limited or waived under the law that applies to you.

You can stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms. On termination you can request an export or deletion of your data.

HoopTrace is operated by Cure Consulting Group, Inc., a New York corporation. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any lawsuit about these terms or the Service must be brought in the state or federal courts located in the State of New York, and you and we consent to those courts, except that either of us may bring a qualifying claim in small-claims court where you live.

If you use the Service for personal or household purposes, nothing here removes consumer protections of the state where you live that cannot be waived by contract.

If you are a public school, school district, or other government entity, any part of these terms (including governing law, venue, and limits on liability) that your governing law does not allow you to accept does not apply to you, and to that extent these terms are governed by the laws of your state.
